In the first game between the teams the rebels jumped out to a 16-9 lead in the first period that led to a 63-49 win. They went on to win every period and cruised to a 14-point win in the only game between the Rebels and Bulldogs this season.
Three players finished in double-figures for the Rebels led by Kiara Jackson with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Desi-Rae Young (10 points and 14 rebounds) and Amarachi Kimpson (10 points off the bench) also scored in double-figures to pace the offense in the dominant team win.
The Bulldogs only had one player score in double-figures in Taija Sta. Maria with 11 points. There were 10 total players to score, but in the loss they were outrebounded by 17 and limited to just one shot nearly every possession. Getting more shots and establishing pace will be a huge variable in the Bulldogs ability to pull of the upset today.
